Cultivated into rolling hills covered in grapevines, the tranquil setting of Yealands Estate winery is a perfect place to take the family, enjoy a picnic, and to feed the ducks and other native birds. The wetlands and ponds hand crafted by Peter Yealands and his team provide a beautiful backdrop for everything from kite-flying to simply relaxing and taking in the stunning views.
With wine tastings at the cellar door and a restaurant on offer, there is plenty to do just down the road. Children’s playgrounds and large areas of picturesque fields with picnic areas makes this stretch of the Awatere one of the more beautiful sights on offer.
With a self guided vineyard tour, visitors can see one of New Zealand’s most eco-friendly and sustainable wineries and vineyards.
Along with complimentary wine tastings visitors can also purchase a cheese platter from the cellar door, then take a short drive to one of the many beautiful areas surrounding Yealands estate. Sit back relax and enjoy the views, with some fine wine and cheese!
