Blairich Recreation Reserve
The Blairich Recreation reserve is situated twelve kilometres inland from State Highway one, with access from the Awatere Valley road. A quiet, secluded spot away from the noise and lights of even the closest township, Seddon. With the Awatere river to the south and the Blairich stream to the west, there are many opportunities to explore these native waterways, swim or fish.
A good place to camp overnight, it is a designated freedom camping area, with a maximum stay of two nights. Facilities include a toilet and picnic area. With plenty of native bush, this shady spot is perfect for a camping trip or to exercise your dogs, with off leash walking permitted. Several mountain-bike tracks cross through this reserve, including the Acheron Road trail.
